Glögg at Ottossons

We had a yearly tradition in Sweden to invite all our friends to a glögg party just before Christmas and even though we live in a new place with new friends we wanted to continue with this tradition. So on December 4th we had glögg, lussebullar, pepparkakor, knäck, kola, vörtbröd and some other snacks for our friends. For our Swedish/Europenan friends it was something that they are used to...but for some of our American friends this was new...
	Frasse was the first to come, followed by Lars and Ute...they brought the German equivalent to glögg for us to try. Linn with their twins Marc and Alec.

There were 17 kids and to entertain them we had set up our 3 bedrooms for them...the guestrrom was the movieroom for the evening where Shrek 2 was playing...well, the picture to the right is actually set up, the smallest ones did not sit in the sofa for more than a minute or so...just thought it would be a cute picture!!

	In Sweden, the festivities of Lucia Day (December 13th) begin early in the morning, with costumed children bringing their parents breakfast in bed. But in Sweden the holiday continues, with Lucia processions in schools, hospitals, offices, factories, even on SAS flights. There are also Lucia competitions, with young women vying to represent their community. Perhaps the most spectacular of these takes place in Stockholm where the city's Lucia is crowned by the writer who three days earlier was awarded that year's Nobel Prize in Literature. Here we have Ella in the Lucia outfit. Below also Ronja in hers and Adrian has borrowed the candle crown from Ella...

Nowadays the parties usually end early...kids that need to go to bed. Frasse, Rutherhills and Jacobis stayed for another couple of hours. I actually think this is the first picture taken of all our kids together...

Well, that was it for the glögg att Ottossons. But we are going to another glögg cocktail next Saturday so there will be more of the goodies...
